Federal townhouse façade with restoration — Charlton Street illustration

Project overview

Every original sash kept — repaired, re-glazed and re-hung.

An 1820s Federal house with most of its original sash still in place, painted shut and draughty. The owners assumed replacement; the survey showed the wood was sound.

All twenty sash were removed, repaired, re-glazed with restoration glass where panes were missing, and re-hung on new cords. The dormers were repaired in place. Approval came as a Certificate of No Effect.
