Greek Revival · Six-over-six sash

Greek Revival townhouse façade with six-over-six sash — West 11th Street illustration

Project overview

Fourteen windows returned to six-over-six after a 1970s replacement removed every muntin.

The house had lost its original sash in the 1970s to single-pane aluminium units with no divisions at all. Two original sash survived in the rear, under paint, and gave us the muntin profile and width.

We built fourteen new mahogany sash with true divided lights to that profile, repaired the original frames in place, and restored the two surviving sash for the rear parlour. The work was approved by staff as a Permit for Minor Work.
